Achievements (since 2006)Establishment of and Co-Director of a daily, one-stop ‘Rapid Access Stroke Prevention (RASP)â€� service, which is run in close collaboration with colleagues in ARHC/Stroke Medicine, Vascular Surgery, Radiology and Cardiology. Establishment and Chairperson of a weekly Neurovascular Multi-Disciplinary Team meeting at TUH. Instrumental in Clinical and Academic Neurology/Stroke Medicine development, training & education in Ireland and internationally, including promotion of innovative, personalised care of TIA/Stroke and General Neurology patients. Successfully supervised 4 PhDs and 2 MScs in Clinical Neurosciences at TCD, was the supervising Vascular Neurologist for a HRB-funded Physiotherapy Fellow/PhD student at UCD, and currently supervising 1 further PhD student and 1 MSc student at TUH/TCD. Also successfully supervised a HRB-funded student, and numerous NCHDs in health services research & audit projects.Ìý Membership of several advisory groups, including Treasurer of the Irish Heart Foundation, Council on Stroke (2010 to date), Ìý‘Regional Stroke Neurology Leadâ€�, HSE Dublin Midlands Region (2010 to date), the Irish National Clinical Advisory Group (CAG) on Stroke Medicine (2012 to date), and Chairperson of the RCPI/HSE National Stroke Programme’s Research and Education Committee (2018 to date).
