To me, the Kennebunks represent the best that the Maine coast has to offer.
The architectural treasure of historic sea captains' homes. A
quintessential working fishing village. A vital riverway where modern
pleasure boats dock between cruises to the ocean. A thriving, diverse
artists' community. A wide range of hospitable accommodations, from intimate,
romantic inns to stately hotels. The best of Maine seafood from casual
clam shacks to elegant, gourmet waterside dining. Great
shopping, offering a wide range of gifts, crafts, and antiques. Several
family-oriented easily-accessible sandy beaches. One of Maine's most
dramatic ocean vistas where strollers can marvel at waves crashing along
a rockbound coast bounded by impressive summer cottages, St. Ann's Church,
and the Bush compound at Walker Point.
I am gratified that my scenic photos of Kennebunkport are well known not only
locally but beyond. My work has been featured in the annual visitors’ guide of
the Kennebunk Kennebunkport Chamber of Commerce for the past twenty one years.
My photographs of the area have appeared in numerous local, regional, and
national tourist publications, newspapers, magazines, and books, and have won
awards in several major photographic competitions. My photographs of
Kennebunkport have been shown at the George H W Bush Presidential Library and
Museum in College Station, Texas, and at Kennebunk’s Brick Store Museum. They
are part of the new First Families Kennebunkport Museum. My work is regularly
exhibited in galleries and art shows in Kennebunkport as well as in several
local businesses, including the Nonantum Resort, Coastal Jewelers, Federal
Jack’s Restaurant, and Alisson’s Restaurant. Matted prints are sold in the
Whimsy Shop in Dock Square. I recently published my thirteenth annual “Images
of Kennebunkport” calendar (for the year 2014). I previously published two
editions of “Kennebunkport: A Photographic Tour”. A larger, continually
updated collection of my photos can be seen at www.flickr.com/photos/portimages.
Prints of any of my photos are available in all conventional sizes---5 x 7
($10), 8 x 10 ($15), 11 x 14 ($25), 12 x 18 ($35), or larger.
